About the Game
Comet: Journey Through the Cosmos is a role-playing game in which you explore the galaxy as a comet on its epic journey through the universe. This game book guides you on a quest of discovery, prompting you to step away from the day-to-day experiences of humanity and instead turn your mind to the beauty of the universe. With the draw of the cards, you’ll explore new solar systems, discover forgotten civilizations, and encounter other cosmic entities during your travels. You’ll feel the passing of time as your comet continues on its age-long orbit, while the memories you’ve gathered from your experiences slowly slip away.
Playing Comet is an introspective game where you explore the galaxy from the comfort of your own gravity-bound location while sketching out and creating the story of your adventure amongst the stars. All you’ll need is a deck of playing cards, a journal, a pencil or other writing device, and a coin (or other flippable flat object with two distinct sides).
While Comet is designed for solo play, there is an option to play the game as an epistolary experience with a trusted friend, taking turns writing letters to one another as you explore the universe. The information shared in these letters can impact the outcome of events, or lend new knowledge you carry as you meet and interact with other cosmic entities.
